Staying at Llansôr Mill

Once you cross the Sôr Brook over the hump-backed bridge, you enter a different world! Llansôr Mill stands in our own 25 acres of meadows, pasture and ancient woodland, with far-reaching pastoral views, which you are free to wander. Either whilst attending an event, or simply enjoying Llansôr as a quiet and tranquil holiday base, it’s a very special place.

cropped-8083065-exterior28-800-web.jpgAt the heart of the site is the old water mill. It no longer functions as a mill, but there are lots of signs of its previous life, including the Sôr Brook tumbling gently alongside the buildings. Now, this 17th-century listed building has been carefully restored to offer it a new lease of life.

The open-plan hall / meeting room (with wood-burning stove, under-floor heating and a piano!) is a wonderful space to be in. This doubles as a beautiful and calm living space, and for events, offers room for up to 25 people to spend quality time together. A sunny gallery overlooks the hall.

Off the hall is a kitchen, bathroom and double bedroom, with a balcony on the south side. A spiral staircase leads down to the ground floor room.

Further single / shared / family accommodation is often available:

The ‘Studio’, (the further building in the photo above) recently refurbished and cosy all year round, is a great space for up to  four people.

The Poustinia, our straw-bale roundhouse is deliciously remote and now features its own eco-loo!

Camping We can also offer simple camping in the meadows by the brook. There’s also a small ‘beach’ where children can safely get muddy.

Whilst you’re here… spend time exploring the delights of the local environment, the nearby Brecon Beacons, the Usk and the Wye valleys, Offas Dyke and Tintern Abbey, let alone the cultural and industrial heritage in Cardiff, Newport and the World Heritage site at Blaenavon. This really is a wonderful place to be based!
